And Taking Names
I'm so happy, I could cry. Democrats.org announces their new blog

Shorter Auntie Idiotarian
Not Geniuses has started reading Auntie
so we don't have to. Some of the funniest stuff I've ever read. Unfortunately, it's making me want to visit old Auntie to see for it for myself.
I just read a review of Newz Crawler on Rick Klau
. I agree with him completely. Newz Crawler is one of the best pieces of software I've ever used, let alone the best News Feed aggregator. I am using it right now to blog this endorsement as a test of its blogger client. (uh-oh, no spell check, ok, reading news is great, but I won't be using this for blogging without spell check).
The blogging client also doesn't support titles, so I had to edit at blogger.com to add it. So, it's not a good blogging client. It is a great aggregator though. Even works on noho-missives even though I don't publish RSS (yet).
I wrote to the author and apparently, it's blogger that doesn't support titles in their API. Newz Crawler supports it for MovableType and other blogging systems.
Football fans know to look beyond the rushing and passing yardage, to the hidden yardage in penalties, turnovers, special teams, etc -- sometimes the whole story of a game is in those yards and not the ones gained conventionally.
Today I closed on a condo and was introduced to the hidden tax increases that tell the whole story about our supposed tax-cut. Sure, state taxes in Massachusetts have not gone up, but all of the fees associated with buying a property have (from an average of about $40 to an average of about $125, for a total increase of hundreds of dollars). But the big difference was in real estate taxes which are up significantly
(almost $1000/year). So, pay attention to those hidden taxes when you look at your federal income tax break next year.
