Perle and Frum on Morning Edition
Scary stuff. Richard Perle and David Frum on NPR this morning
with Juan Williams. Some suggestions from Perle and Frum:
- The US should withdraw from the UN
- The US should issue national ID cards
- The PATRIOT Act should be expanded to give the government the power to rescind citizenship from anyone involved with a terrorist group
And for super-duper- holy-crap-that's-fucking-scary-for-Frum-to-say (approx 2:04 in)
Williams: Is President Bush responsible for not selling the case that we have to do more in this war on terror?
Frum: I don't know that anybody could have done more. I mean, he has been eloquent and he has pushed, but he also bumps up against the limits of Presidential power
Woowee, I almost want to get their book to see what extra Presidential powers Frum thinks Bush should have. And nice calling Bush "eloquent"--I bet Frum particularly likes the speeches that he himself wrote.
