Peter Vickery's opponent for the open Governor's Council seat, Aaron Wilson, has some odd beliefs
In his months of campaigning, Vickery picked up an impressive roster of endorsements from across the four-county area, and continues to emphasize his liberal leanings: The Amherst lawyer is for abortion rights, for marriage rights for same-sex partners and against the death penalty.
"It's relevant due to the job. I want people to know where I stand, and I'd love to know where my opponent stands," said Vickery, who earned a reputation representing three plaintiffs in a 2002 lawsuit against House Speaker Thomas M. Finneran to force a special election for a vacancy in the 1st Hampshire District.
Wilson isn't saying where he stands on those issues, saying they will not come into play as he approves or rejects nominees.
So, if I get this straight, Wilson thinks that issues don't matter when approving or rejecting a judge. I guess the whole rest of the world has got it wrong then.
